[For the month of August 2025, I’m taking a small break and running August Repeats, a repeat of some of the most popular Wonderbringers through the years.
Here’s one from November 2023.]
Hello, Wonderseekers,
Today, as I write this it is Halloween. I love this time of year. Halloween, Dia de los Muertos, clocks change, leaves fall. We sit teetering between trick and treat, childhood and adulthood, life and the afterlife, this season and the next. I always say there is magic in liminal space and this time crackles with it.
I’m in New York City this week with various events. I had a bit of a wander this Halloween night in Times Square and took some surreptitious footage. All the different people. Kids and adults alike dressed up for a bit of mischief. A menagerie of so many different humans sharing space. And in the kind of riotous technicolor fever dream that couldn’t have even been conceived 100 years ago.
Look at each of their faces. They all have hopes and dreams. Fears and regrets. The world right now is so focused on differences, on picking sides. Rather than picking sides, pick just one person in this crowd and imagine what they might be wishing for right now. Conjure something really lovely in your mind. Give it some depth and detail. And then say out loud, “I wish that for you, too.” Let’s create a little web of wishes that for just a moment acts as the counterbalance to the sadness in the world.

Some wonderbringers for me this week:
Hoping for a trip to Paris but can’t quite swing it? Here’s the next best thing: Follow Lindsey Tramuta and her podcast and book on The New Paris and The New Parisiennes.
Want to feel hopeful about the state of dating and relationships?: Follow Meet Cutes on Instagram for a regular romance-fueled serotonin boost.
Need a hopefulness mentor?: Follow 88-year-old Hazel as she dances at sunset for her son.
I’m guest lecturing at Joanne Tombrakos’s NYU marketing class while I’m here (Wonder and marketing, you ask? Yes, indeed!) and I am loving her Marketing, Mindfulness, and Martinis podcast, especially those with Kelly Hoey (#87) and Joya Dass (#86). Two women I know are both powerhouses and wonderseekers.
With wonder,
