Hello wonderseekers!
I was in Dublin (again) this past week, embarking on a new academic adventure (more about that at some point). In the class, we did an exercise entitled ‘plumb lines,’ I was charged with thinking about ‘my heart, my head, and my roots,’ meaning what areas of research are foundational to me (roots), why do they drive me emotionally (heart), and what data supports my position (head). I love this approach and think it is a great way of organising thoughts for any big project, or even just to understand what drives you.
A bit more on this exercise and what my head, heart and roots are. What are yours?

Some wonderbringers for me this week:
Faulty Memory Is a Feature, Not a Bug: Forgetting and misremembering are the building blocks of creativity and imagination.
Monkey Business: Monkeys can learn to tap to the beat of the Backstreet Boys.
It’s been quite a week: Holding on to Control When the World Feels Like It's Falling Apart.
A big thank you to all of you who responded to my query last week about the Big Five personality quiz. Lots of fascinating comments. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! It was interesting to hear from one reader who noted a distinct change in her personality (for the positive) since she tried psychedelics. That is one way to change your mind!
Also, apologies, as one disgruntled reader felt misled that the ‘free’ survey I shared offered a paid version of a longer report. I only want gruntled readers, so here is another free one, but warning: it’s 120 questions long!
With wonder,
