Hello wonderseekers!
It seems everyone is planning their travel for the year around now: spring break jaunts with friends and summer family vacations; girls’ weekends and couples’ trips; city breaks and beach breaks; conferences and work visits with a few extra days tacked on for good measure.
Travel is one of the greatest wonderbringers and one that keeps on giving. It offers us curiosity before we even set off, as we eagerly plan and anticipate our journey. We find novelty, and not just in the big moments like seeing the Sistine Chapel, but in the quotidian, like people hanging their laundry high across an alleyway or a hawker selling food you’ve never seen before. And then there are the stories we return with, reliving our moments of wonder.
Years later, we can have moments of nostalgia crash over us when we see that color or hear that sound or catch a whiff of that smell, transporting us back to the trip that changed us. And even the bits that made us uncomfortable—the “lost in translation” moment of embarrassment or even the shock of poverty that perhaps you haven’t witnessed before—help us grow in our understanding and empathy for others while evoking a sense of gratitude for what we have.
The video this week is three tips to finding more wonder in your travel, and below, a chance to shape what a wonder-based travel tour could look like!

Some wonderbringers for me this week:
A new word for that feeling when travel makes everything new: Why a tourist sees things that become invisible to the locals.
5 Scientifically Proven Health Benefits of Traveling Abroad: What you can gain mentally, physically and emotionally from packing your bags and visiting places you’ve never been.
The Best Travel Books of All Time, According to Authors: These books known to cause extreme wanderlust (and wonderlust!)
So, knowing how important travel is, and how it can be such a powerful wonderbringer, I’m thrilled to share that I am developing some wonder-based travel tours with a fabulous travel partner, My Sudden Journeys. But I need your help! I would love to know what kind of wonder journey you’d like to go on!
