This week I’ve been recovering from the (over) indulgence of thanksgiving by spending some time in nature. Along with my brother and husband, I visited Arches and Canyonlands National Parks for the first time. It was beyond wonderbringing. The sheer immensity of the environment combined with a bit of ol’ fashioned terror (I’ve a wee phobia of falling if the side of a mountain) made for a mind-expanding and soul-enriching few days. It’s tempting as the weather turns colder to stay inside, but I loved getting rugged up and heading out. We had the trails to ourselves and, for this city mouse, the silence was an unmatched noggin cleanse.
No video message from me this week. Instead, a few clips of the sound of Utah silence.
