Hello, Wonderseekers,
This week I’m reflecting on the impermanence of life, the impermanence of our life plans, and regret. Daniel Pink gathered regrets from around the world and wrote a great book about regret. He says there are typically four types of regret. A researcher named Shigehiro Oishi looked at thousands of obituaries, and he thinks the key to fewer regrets is living a psychologically rich life. Oishi describes this as “a life characterized by a variety of interesting and perspective-changing experiences.” When you dig into the research further, you see psychological richness is very aligned with living a wonder-filled life.
The reality is, we never know what tomorrow may bring. With that in mind, my question for you is, what would you regret if tomorrow was your last day on earth? What’s keeping you from tackling it now?

Some wonderbringers for me this week:
Kalina Silverman wanted to stop with the small talk so she moved to the big talk: Watch her "Before I die I want to..." interview series.
When “just enough” is all you need: The Swedish philosophy of lagom.
I’m often asked how to help kids see more nuance. I suggest debates at the dinner table: A great resource for teenagers (and adults) to see both sides of topical issues.
In case you didn’t know, I wrote a book! (lol!) It is a long book in part because there is a lot of imposter syndrome baked in. It was so important for me to show the level of research I did on the topic. (Hello, 70pg bibliography!) So it is an incredible honor — and validation — to have been invited onto Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman’s wildly popular The Psychology Podcast. Dr. Kaufman rarely invites non-academics onto his show, so this was a real endorsement of my work. I hope you enjoy it.
And next week I’ll be in NYC with a few events. I’ll be guest lecturing at NYU, holding a private Power of Wonder Salon all about the wonder of design, and having a book reading at a fabulous little boutique in Soho, India & Purry. The latter of which you can join! If you’re in NYC, I’d love to see you there!
With wonder,
