Hello, Wonderseekers,
Summer holidays are coming to an end and the great transition for all students begins. I love that the French refer to the start of the summer season as “les grandes vacances” (the big holidays) and the end of summer as “le rentree” (the reentry or return). And the reentry is a return on so many levels. It is so apropos. I know for many parents, the reentry back to school is a welcome respite from the chaos of summer. And with the new school year, so many firsts. But of course, that means so many lasts, too. This week a brief reflection on transitions.

Some wonderbringers for me this week:
Why thinking about death helps you live a better life: Advice from a death doula.
A woman’s nostalgic daydream about butterflies: Moroccan filmmaker Sofia El Khyari’s award-winning visual love poem.
Using wonder to ease the transition of grief: A reflection on taking a wonder walk.
This autumn I’m excited to be speaking at three special events all centered around the wonder of art and design. Two are in New York in early November, and then one in London in mid-November, as part of the Festival of Hospitality. Be on the lookout for ways to attend!
With wonder,
