Hello, Wonderseekers,
It is hot out there! Most of the US and Europe are contending with scorching temps this week, and it has people reverse hibernating. (Did you know the word for reverse hibernation is estivate?) If it’s too hot to take a wonder walk outside, today I’ll share some ideas on how to take a wonder walk from the comfort of your (hopefully) cool home. A few places to start are here, here, here, or maybe here.
And this week, let’s all say a little extra thanks to the wondrous ingenuity of Mr. Carrier!

Some wonderbringers for me this week (you’ll want your sound up for these!):
Entitled Takar (Arabic for “repetition”) this film explores the beauty of Istanbul’s architecture: What looks like animation is actually 2900 images in a 4min stop-motion film.
Water as an instrument: Bei Bei Wang’s water concerto.
Haunting sounds: Listen to the carnyx, a wind instrument used by the Iron Age Celts (between c. 200 BC and c. AD 200).
And one last idea for a wonder walk is to listen to my LIVE walk and talk with Joyce Shulman and her 99 walks. You can listen while you’re on the treadmill, in the mall, or even on the sofa (I won’t tell!)
With wonder,
