Hello, Wonderseekers,
It’s graduation season for many young people in the US. I am looking forward to speaking for one and attending another as a proud GuGu (auntie in Mandarin pinyin). This threshold between being a student and being an “adult” is a wonderfilled time. My message is to revel in the wonder of transitions and liminal space. You’ll find magic there.

Some wonderbringers for me this week:
From catapiller to butterfly: Don’t forget the love for the nutrient soup.
Lean into the mixed-emotion of this heartbreakingly beautiful essay: Letters to Evan Gershkovich, my friend in a Moscow jail.
The second element of wonder is curiosity, or to wander. So much alignment with wonder in this article written by an ex-park ranger: How to wander.
Rabbi Harold S. Kushner, who wrote the bestelling book, Why Bad Things Happen to Good People has died. This his lovely obituary. He was full of aphorisms and quotes, but this is one of my favorites: “I would tell the teachers in our religious school, ‘I don’t want to hear that on the day of the first serious snowfall of winter, you called the children back from the window to return to page forty-three in the textbook. A young child’s grasp of delight at the beauty of the snow will be as authentic a prayer, and as religiously grounded a response to the wonder and beauty of God’s world, as anything in your lesson plan for that afternoon.’” May his memory be a blessing.
Come see me in person:
Sunday, May 7th, noon, Atlanta: I’ll be doing a casual keynote and Q&A at the SLCA. This event is free and open to all. More info here.
Saturday May 27th, 3pm, London: I’ll be on the main stage at the Mind Body Spirit Festival and will have some tickets to give away. Let me know if you’d like to attend.
Hoping you all enjoy
With wonder,
