Hello, Wonderseekers!
A big Wonderbringers welcome to our many new subscribers! As you’ll see, we like to keep these newsletters short and sweet—just a few nuggets of wonder every Wonder Wednesday to lift you up mid-week.
Since The Power of Wonder is now out into the world, people have been responding to the various podcasts and press I’ve been doing, and you have been asking some good questions! So, I’ll answer some of those questions over the coming weeks. If you have a question for me, shoot it over and I’ll try to include it. And also, I would LOVE your wonderbringing sound clips! So see below for how to submit them.
This week I’ll talk about the link between mindfulness and wonder. Enjoy!

Your audio moment of wonder:
Think of this as your mid-week moment of wondrous reflection. Close your eyes, put the phone on silent, and take just two minutes out of your day to be transported. I want your audio wonderbringers! Click here to contribute.
While slowly coming to terms with some very wintry weather of which I am not a fan, I shared last week a video from National Geographic of Marten Anje wild skating along a small pond outside of Stockholm, Sweden. Well, this week, I’ve got another wintry audio moment of wonder for you.
This week it is from “Cities and Memory” which is described as “one of the world’s largest sound projects” with more than 1,000 artists contributing to their goal of “remixing the world, one sound at a time.” Cities and Memory take field recordings of sounds and then mix them with music. “Encompassing field recording, sound art and sound mapping, every location on the Cities and Memory sound map features two sounds: the original field recording of that place, and a reimagined sound that presents that place and time as somewhere else, somewhere new.”
This is the original field recording of a Ross Seal (Ommatophoca rossii) from under the pack ice of Antarctica. You can head to their website and listen to the sound reimagined by artists, but I think the original sounds pretty magical as is!

Some wonderbringers for me this week:
Wonder@work through humility: How to Infuse Your Company Culture with Humility
Daydreaming as a wonderbringer—a piece by me in TIME: Why Daydreaming Is So Good for You
Fungus among us: Trippy timelapse photography of growing fungi
Thank you to everyone who has purchased a book, left a review, or listened to a podcast. This growing community of wonderseekers makes my heart happy. This particular podcast with To Be Magnetic’s Expanded Podcast seems to be resonating with a lot of folks. Give it a listen and let me know what you think!
With wonder,
