Hello, Wonderseekers!
I hope you had a week filled with love and that Valentine’s Day was an opportunity for some happy reflections on the nature of your human relationships. This week I’m in New York and am falling in love with all the new sites and sounds. It’s also got me thinking about all the ways we stop seeing the excitement and newness of our day to day lives and how that might mean we are missing opportunities for wonder.

Your audio moment of wonder:
Think of this as your mid-week moment of wondrous reflection. Close your eyes, put the phone on silent, and take just two minutes out of your day to be transported. I want your audio wonderbringers! Click here to contribute.
This week’s audio moment of wonder is brought to us by my friend Anne Ravanona, Founder & CEO of Global Invest Her and global Women’s Economic Empowerment Advocate.
Anne shared that to her, wonder means “stopping for a moment and being transported to a higher level of consciousness that makes my soul vibrate. Where everything else melts away, and the inner child in me wakes up and says ‘wow.’ Where I am taken to a parallel universe for a brief moment in time, and nothing else exists except the wonderbringer and me. Wonder is food for my soul, at a very deep level - a core part of being human.” Yes!
Anne’s wonderbringing soundscape is birdsong from Parc de Sceaux, her local wonder walk park in the southern suburbs of Paris. She explains, “You can hear different types of birds who were very melodious that morning, and even a few [rare] horses hooves from the park rangers. And then the quiet patter of a runner running past me. Anne wants us to remember that “listening to birdsong has been proven to improve your mood for the day.” I hope your mood is improved by this moment of birdsong!

Some wonderbringers for me this week:
Wonder@work through constructive leadership : Miles Davis “turns poison into medicine.”
New book on meditation from the developer of EQ: Daniel Golman’s Why We Meditate review: A convincing argument for regular meditation.
A reminder that wonder can be silly and fun: North Dakota 7th grader wins $10k for sinking basketball shots. Crowd loses its mind.
And in book news, we are in the home stretch. Whew! This is the last week to pre-order, and don’t forget pre-orders get a bonus chapter on relationships, so a great follow-up to V-Day! Mark the date: February 21st (which is also Mardi Gras—this Nola girl loves the kismet of that!) I can’t wait for this book to get out into the world. And do get in touch if you’d like my book tour to come to your city.
With wonder,
