Wonderseekers,
First, I have to say THANK YOU!! I have received lovely notes from many of you saying that Wonderbringers is the perfect mid-week pick-me-up. I’m delighted to know it’s hitting the spot. (Want more wonder? Check below for some webinar info.)
This week I want to touch on why wonder is even worth pursuing. We all know in our hearts and souls that wonder makes us feel good, but what about our bodies and minds? Click below for a small snicket of the ways wonder helps us physically and psychologically.

Your audio moment of wonder:
Think of this as your mid-week moment of wondrous reflection. Close your eyes, put the phone on silent, and take just two minutes out of your day to be transported.
This week our audio moment of wonder is brought to us by Paris-based journalist and author of The New Parisienne: The Women and Ideas Shaping Paris, Lindsey Tramuta. Despite loving travel, she doesn’t search too far for her wonderbringers, rather finding they are right at home.
“As someone who has struggled on and off with anxiety and a restless mind, I am always seeking out anything that will put me at ease. It so happens those things tend to be a meaningful source of wonder.” One wonderbringer is her cats. “I can observe their micro-movements for hours in total awe. ...Watching them anchors me in the present.”
Another home-based wonderbringer is her cozy fireplace. “In 2021, my husband and I bought a small house together, an hour and a half outside of Paris. We have two old fireplaces (that we can use!). The ability to build a fire, feel its heat, and listen to it crackle and burn is revelatory. Taking in the sounds of the fire … its constancy in sound and the constantly changing shape of the flames keep me rapt. So much of what I (and frankly, the whole of society) strive to gain is calm and focus and thought it required podcasts, meditation, or some sort of miraculous technique. In reality, the answer exists in my own home.” Wise words from Lindsey!
Enjoy this warm audio moment of wonder recorded by Lindsey at her maison de campagne on New Year’s Day, 2023. Marshmallows anyone?
Some wonderbringers for me this week:
Wonder@work through the wonderbringer of charisma: Why Charisma Matters in the Work World.
In honor of MLK Day this past Monday, an interesting academic article about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his charisma: Charismatic leadership in a mass struggle.
Is the winter getting to you? Enjoy a peek at the veritable queen of tropical birds: Dazzling photographs of flocking flamingos.
