Wonderseekers,
Delighted to see you again this week! Given we've just started this adventure together, I thought this week I would just talk a bit about what wonder is and why I decided to study it.
Wonder is a mindset as much as a moment. By understanding what brings us wonder, we can discover more ways to find it in our lives.

Your audio moment of wonder:
Think of this as your mid-week moment of wondrous reflection. Close your eyes, put the phone on silent, and take just two minutes out of your day to be transported.
This week our audio moment of wonder is brought to us by Donna Peters. Donna is a career coach, author, and host of the award-winning podcast The Me-Suite. I had a chance to ask Donna what wonder meant to her and her wonderbringers.
Donna describes wonder as an “admiration of the forces that are bigger than I am and gratitude that I'm connected to all of it.” She shared a touching story about how gardening with the heirloom seed collection she inherited from her father helps her feel closer to him. ”Going from seed to table is a wonder at every single step." She obviously inherited his sense of wonder too. Donna's dad penned the following in his notebook about a month before his death: "The universe and the natural world are too wondrous to have appeared by chance. Much is beyond current scientific understanding.” Wow.
Enjoy this audio moment of wonder inspired by Donna gardening “in her community garden beds in the heart of Atlanta. In the silence between trains and planes is the buzz of the bees.”
Some wonderbringers for me this week:
Wonder@work using gratitude as a wonderbringer: Building a better workplace starts with saying “thanks.”
The wonder of science and art combined: Canadian filmmaker Scott Portingale captures the beauty of chemical reactions in wondrous detail, using time-lapse and macro photography.
A creative solution to pollution: Bubble wall traps plastic in rivers
And in some exciting personal news, The Power of Wonder was chosen as a must-read by the Next Big Idea Club (NBIC). NBIC was created by Daniel Pink, Susan Cain, Malcolm Gladwell, and Adam Grant to highlight the best non-fiction books in the market. Each must-read selection is also nominated for the season’s top read, which will be chosen by this group of rock-star non-fiction authors. I’m over the moon about this honor!
That's it for me. I'm off to record my audiobook this week (exciting!!). See you next week!
